Overview
As a Manufacturing Coordinator at Kentwood Office Furniture, you will play a critical role in our manufacturing operations by processing orders for our plants and warehouse teams, including ordering raw materials for respective projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates order processing for manufacturing and warehouse teams, raw material ordering and customer service with all members of the KOF team – works toward common goals and cooperation between sales, finance, operations, and customer service.
- Processes orders and PO’s to KOF external suppliers with particular emphasis on materials and supplies needed for our internal manufacturing operations.
- Develops and implements effective order processing instructions, policies, and procedures. Helps develop performance metric system to correctly measure success of department.
- Assumes ownership of all order processing for internally manufactured or stocked products, product purchasing functions and takes whatever corrective actions are necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Updates computer system(s) to include full details of products ordered, acknowledgements received, and anticipated receipt dates.
- Works closely with Supply Chain Analyst on procurement initiatives.
- Keeps respective project coordinators and manufacturing team leaders fully informed regarding status of their orders – copies them to all relevant reports.
- Participates in the future integration of new business operating system software.
- Engage deeply with our new-process development initiatives and serve on the IDEAS team. Learn to use Smartsheet software to manage current processes as well as creating new ones as determined by the team.
- Assist Product Marketing Manager with any duties as needed and serve as back up to that position when needed.
- Calculate product quotes for EFA customer projects with Product Marketing Manager.
- Help review EFA email addresses to ensure quick responsiveness to all customer inquiries.
- Help update EFA website as needed – assist EKOS marketing representative when possible.
- Conduct data analysis through business operating system to identify trends and forecast demand.
- Serve as main contact for supplying finish samples and marketing materials to our sales teams, representative groups, or customers.
- Be a participating member of the company safety committee.
- Other duties as directed by management.
Qualifications & Attributes
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Material Management, Supply Chain, or a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
- 2+ years of related experience in order processing, customer service, purchasing, supply chain management, or manufacturing preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary for this position. Familiarity with Teams, Squarespace, and ERP / MRP software would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Any previous office furniture knowledge and/or experience would be a plus.
