Kentwood Office Furniture Expands into Indianapolis Market

August 2nd, 2012 by Jeff Klein

August 1, 2012 – Kentwood Office Furniture (KOF) is pleased to announce their recent expansion into the Indianapolis, Indiana market. The new Indianapolis showroom, located at 7226 East 87th Street, Suite E, Indianapolis, IN 46256, will focus on providing customers with quality new, used and remanufactured office furniture solutions.  The Indianapolis location will house a new product showroom with mid ranged product solutions offered by companies like Hon, Global and Doane Keyes Premiera.  In addition, there will be a used product display of affordable, high quality products from major office furniture manufacturers like Steelcase, Herman Miller and Haworth.

Kentwood Office also brings top notch remanufactured office furniture solutions to Indianapolis customers.  For over 35 years, Kentwood Office Furniture has been the Mid West’s premier specialist in high quality remanufactured products.  As one of the first major office furniture dealers in the remanufacturing and wholesale industry, Kentwood Office has earned a reputation for providing good, better and best quality product solutions to the right place, at the right time, and at the right price. The remanufactured product solutions include Herman Miller and Haworth products. “Our outstanding group of dedicated employees and our wholesale unit that buys and sells large quantities of used office furniture from companies throughout the USA, combine to provide very cost-effective solutions for every customer”, says Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Laura Hopson.  Remanufactured furniture is not only a cost effective approach but a sound environmental decision, keeping still-useful products out of landfills and reducing the strain on our country’s precious natural resources.  Kentwood Office Furniture has a commitment to sustainability.   Remanufactured furniture is an excellent choice for organizations to furnish an environmentally responsible and productive workplace.

KOF has grown beyond the initial 130,000 square foot headquarters facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan to over 350,000 square feet of space, including a remanufacturing facility in Lansing, Michigan, and showrooms in Jackson and Novi, Michigan, Chicago, Illinois and Indianapolis.  Kentwood Office Furniture is positioned well to leverage its strong regional presence for the benefit of the Indianapolis market. They will work closely with their supply base on pricing and discounting, and will also be able to make quick delivery runs and installations on the logistics side of things.  In addition to product, Kentwood also offers a full range of project management and design services to coordinate planning, decommissioning, liquidation, and transporting the furniture.

The Indianapolis office will be led by Co-Owner and President Bob Koehne.  Koehne, former President of Continental Office Environments, Indiana, has spent many years as a manager in the contract office furniture market in the Indianapolis area.  Bob’s leadership at Continental and his various executive positions at Business Furniture make him a tremendous asset to all customers in need of office furniture solutions.  “Bob Koehne brings to Kentwood Office Furniture great leadership and more importantly vision.  He has maintained a reputation for providing furniture solutions that continue to meet the needs of his clients, with an unparalleled level of service,” says Art Hasse, owner of Kentwood Office Furniture.   Koehne will be supported by a sales and design team focused specifically on meeting the unique needs of customers in Indianapolis and the surrounding areas.

The office furniture industry has been in flux over the past several years and Kentwood Office Furniture has found creative ways to grow and expand.  KOF’s product portfolio continues to be appropriate for customers craving value priced, design oriented solutions, and great quality with no compromise to on time shipment and service.
